Xanthan Gum Food Grade is used as a texturing in food industry. As E415 food additive, it is a cold soluble thickener (thickening agent E415) which provides high viscosity and pseudo plasticity at low concentration. Its solution shows very high resistance to acid and heat treatment as well as excellent salt tolerance and exceptional suspension properties. With the unique rheological properties, thickener E415 is well suited for almost all kinds of food products. We can offer superior food grade products, especially the xanthan gum clear grade for food use.

Legal Status:

Xanthan Gum conforms to the definition and specifications from JECFA (FAO/WHO), FDA (21CFR) and European Commission Regulation (EU) No 231/2012. However, we recommend that the user ensure that this product is in compliance with the local regulations in force, particularly in the country where the product is to be consumed.

 

Manufacture Process:

The strain must be preserved in a freeze-dried condition. It would be activated by inoculation into a nutrient medium containing a carbohydrate, a nitrogen source and mineral salts. After growth, the cultures are used to inoculate successive fermentation tank right through to the industrial scale.

Throughout all the fermentation process, pH, aeration, temperature and agitation are monitored and controlled all the time.

Once the carbohydrate is exhausted, the broth is sterilized. Then, the fermentation tank would be emptied, cleaned and sterilized before the next fermentation takes place.

Xanthan gum is recovered by precipitation in alcohol (isopropyl or ethanol). The coagulum obtained is separated, rinsed, pressed, dried and ground before quality control.

Package:

25kg/carton or bag lined with a polyethylene bag, shrinkwrapped on pallets or xanthan gum in bulk. Customer’s request is also available. 

 

Storage and Shelf Life:

Keep original packaging sealed, in water-proof, clean and dry conditions. Stay away from heat and moisture.
